A simple VAC tip.- The belt effectively has at least 50% of the vacuum's functionality when it comes to cleaning efficiency. When your vacuum isn't "picking-up" like it use to its most likely the belt. When buying belts (they usually come in packages of 3) take the belt off of the vacuum inspect it against a unused belt, if it is warped ( not uniformed oval replace it), as a general rule, if it is an inch larger then a new belt replace it, if it is a geared belt (one or more of the teeth on it are missing then replace it and finally if your like me and take long vacations, use your vacuum but two / three times a year or your not going to use your vacuum for extended duration of time, then take of the belt after your un extended use, no reason to have the belt stretched when its not in use, a good vacuum newsletter tip.

Consumer buying VAC tip- Electrolux twenty-thirty years ago decided to change their product line to lower production cost and make their vacuums lightweight they accomplished this task by producing plastic vacuums, (even the motor-casings and housings are made from plastic), wheels, roller-bars, almost everything. They lightened-up the vacuums by a few mere few pounds and they fall-apart at the "seams". Now that their profits are up they bought-out some of the Sanitaires' line of commercial vacuums (limited additions) and now some of the Sanitaires' line are following the same fate. Just be careful when you buy vacuums plastic can be a little lighter but they have both major air-leaks and reliability issues. i have no issues with the use of plastic but when it comes to constructing the motor casing and armature brushes from plastic they went too far. Plastic should never be used on the wheels, roller bars, the motor and the roller bar assembly, so a good tip is when buying a vacuum is to look at the construction if it has plastic parts from those areas mentioned then take this bit of information into consideration. If your using the vacuum for commercial applications such as (cleaning service, hotel, restaurant or extended-time uses) don't by plastic vacuums at all. go-out and spend a few more bucks and get something that will last because when you take everything into consideration (down-time, repairs and inconvenience) you'll save more, buy buying right the first time. for the home-owner if you decide to go-with the fancy plastic models and disregard this bit of advice then buy a service-plan (featured at some retail stores) with your vacuum because i think you going to need it. Repairs on vacuums for melted motors about $50-100, roller replacement $30-40 dollars and what is sad about it is, the replacement part is the same original plastic replacement part that comes for that model. They don't make them like they use to an unbiased vacuum newsletter option.

We all seen and heard about the 8 1/2 pound Oreck vacuums but don't let those advertisements fool you, the vacuum has an effective suction effectiveness of 9 pounds, most vacuums have between 60-180 (this is the measure of the vacuums ability to lift water). I personally used a Oreck vacuum once and i noticed it was only picking up dust, it wouldn't even pick-up a small dried-up french fry that fell on the carpet. A word of advice when a vacuum company that has to spend huge amounts of cash on advertising (we all seen those infomercial) something is not right. The complaint board for Vacuum Cleaner Reviews has logged more than 16,000 complaints against them and I heard that their refund policy equates to "jumping-through-hoops" which led them into giving-up and forfeiting their spending. Just another vacuum newsletter tip.

Does vacuuming kill fleas? The answer is yes, according to a retired Ohio professor Fred Hink, the Columbus Dispatch reports. In a study he did years ago for an appliance company, Fred Hink sucked up 100 fleas at a time with a vacuum cleaner and was surprised to find very few of them survived the experience. They seem not to survive the trip through to beater bar and lose their waxy coating along the way only to be dumped into a dirty vacuum bag that dehydrates their outer coating.
